Two's - ToddlersThe Toddler curriculum is called "Welcome to Learning". Children in these classes range in tin age from 15 months to 2.9 years of age. This program is based on developing the "Whole" child. The program is centered around the idea that children learn through play, responsive actions and through feelings. We plan activities that are hands-on, and build social, emotional and intellectual skills. At this stage in the child's life lots of care, attention and interaction are needed to stimulate the learning process. We keep the schedule flexible to allow the toddlers the opportunities and time to develop skills. Attention spans are short at this stage and our curriculum reflects the busy toddler lifestyle.
Week of April 20th
Toddler Time
Monday: Art Array Day Creating a summer backdrop in art. letter writing in Language. Melting great leaf rubbings in construction. Let's try some pudding painting some crayons in science, and some Sounds like fun to me!!
Tuesday: Hocus Pocus Day-(Don't be scared!) Creating our own magic hats in Art. A secret gift for mom's in science and a little game of Sink and Float in water table.
Wednesday: What Ya Got Cooking??? A little pinch of this and a little pinch of that, let's create our own snack, mack!! What until you see what we create with spaghetti in Art and what music we can play with boxes and cans!!
Thursday: Go For the Gold!! Please bring in a T-Shirt for us to use. We will be making our own medals in art to use during our own Olympics outside. Check out our Flannel board sports in manipulative and our marble ball shaving cream in science.
Friday: Last but not least - Island Fun Day!! Bring in one piece of your favorite fruit for our fruit cocktails We are doin' some jammin and island fun!!! It's up to you to dress as wacky as you can!!
