One of our most important assets here at KinderCare are our parents. We feel the link between home and school must be a solid connection. We have a Parent Forum which meets bimonthly on the first Tuesday. The object of the Parent Forum is to set up our Parent and Family nights here at the center as well provide input to the charity work we do. Every other month we have special family nights. They range from spaghetti suppers, rodeo nights, to a night in Hawaii. It is an opportunity to meet the other families here at the center and form lasting relationships with the friends of your child. By involving our parents it allows us to reach out to the Franklin community. We decide which fund raisers we will do as well as the charities we will make donations to. Our holiday drives ranged from collecting for the food pantry, collecting used Christmas cards for battered children, "Toys for Tots", and a "Giving Tree" for gifts for the needy children in Franklin. The Parent Forum is done on a volunteer basis and those wishing to partake may not need to attend every meeting. We put out a monthly newsletter of events, as well as the minutes from each meeting. We hope that through this forum each of our parents will become more involved in every aspect of their child's life here at KinderCare. |
Dear Parents: Thank you to all those parents that participated in the February Parent Forum. We made some exciting decisions for the center in the fund raising area. We will iniate the fundraiser on the 16th of February. Each child will recieve the fundraising form on their cubbie. We will be selling T-Shirts and candles, for each purchase we will earn five dollars towards the center fund. We are hoping to raise enough money for the children to have special visitors in the next few months. Some of the visitors that we were interested in having are the African Storyteller, Magician and an Animal Visitor. If each family sells five items we will meet our goal. The family that raises the most money will recieve a free week of tuition!
The next meeting for the Parent Forum is scheduled for April 7th. Hope to see you there.
We have scheduled to hold the Parent/Teacher Conferences for Monday 23rd and Tuesday the 24th of February. Infants and Toddlers will be held Monday from 5:30 - 7:00. The preschool and Kindergarten will be held Tuesday 5:30 - 7:00. Please see your child's teacher for the sign-up sheet. If you are unable to make it on the designated day please see your child's teacher for a more convient date and time.
